Memorial Day 2017
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag:

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute. Members of the Armed Forces not in uniform and veterans may render the military salute in the manner provided for persons in uniform.

As most of you know, Barbara Brummett (with the help of others) compiled this information and published this book back in 1995. I had talked with Barbara a few years ago about putting the information on the internet so it could be readily available. Although she was receptive to the idea, nothing was done that I'm aware of.

Teresa Hisken HEATER '72 and I have recently been discussing how to get this going.

Barbara had been the permanent secretary of the Alumni Association for many years and was instrumental in putting together the Alumni Book for the 100th anniversary of the association (1992). I used this information to start our website back in 2003.

The software that she used to keep track of name, address, class, etc was Personal Mailing List (file extension .pml), and I think she probably used the same software to compile the cemetery records.

If anyone knows of the whereabouts of her data (computer, jump drive,CD, etc), we would appreciate being notified so it could be used to prevent her efforts being lost, and avoiding all the re-input of the data
